One-day-old chicks (chickens) GROUND 1kg - Whole prey / barf for cats and dogs

We invite you to purchase a unique product in our store specializing in whole prey and feed for cats. One-day-old GROUND chicks are the quintessence of the highest quality frozen food for dogs and cats, dedicated to guardians looking for healthy, full-value food for their carnivorous pets. Thanks to more than 20 years of experience in running a hatchery, we offer you a product that will meet the expectations of even the most demanding animals and their guardians.

Our product is 100% made of one-day-old chicks, ground in their entirety. The ground form of chicks is extremely convenient for feeding. To prepare the right portion, simply cut off the piece of the sausage that we want to thaw. The rest should be put into a zip-lock bag (or another that can be sealed tightly) and put back in the freezer.

Exceptional quality and safety of Raw PetFood chickens

Our frozen chicks come exclusively from controlled sources, ensuring their unparalleled quality. Immediately after hatching, they are humanely euthanized using CO2, then quickly cooled and deeply frozen, which guarantees the preservation of their excellent condition. The entire process is under constant supervision of the Main Veterinary Inspectorate, ensuring compliance with the highest standards. More on this topic can be found in the article: Are chickens from Raw PetFood safe for cats and how do we know?

Ideal addition to barf for cats

Ground one-day-old chicks perfectly fit into the philosophy of the BARF diet for cats. They make an excellent addition to the daily meals of cats, dogs, and other carnivorous animals, supporting their health and well-being. It is especially recommended for animals that, for various reasons, must consume food in ground form.

To facilitate pet owners in composing a barf diet, we include average values for the analytical composition of one-day-old chicks based on scientific literature12:

Are dogs omnivores? Dog food versus meat in the light of research
Authors publishing in the British Journal of Nutrition have provided us with extremely interesting facts and hypotheses regarding the optimal diet for man's best friend. In the article Dietary nutrient profiles of wild wolves: insights for optimal dog nutrition?, they questioned the classification of dogs as omnivorous animals, sparking a discussion about how this misconception affects the health and well-being of our pets fed with commercial dog foods.

Bird flu in cats and day-old chicks
Avian influenza is a viral infectious disease that primarily affects birds, but in some cases also spreads to other animal species. In 2023, the H5N1 virus became a widely discussed topic among cat owners. In 2024, concerns about the possibility of the disease occurring in our pets, especially those fed poultry in the form of barf or whole prey diet still persist. At Raw PetFood, questions are also directed about whether our day-old chickens are safe for cats and what procedures ensure that this is the case?
