Grade B mice may have slight visual imperfections, such as traces of blood or minor damage, which do not affect their nutritional value. This grade allows you to purchase healthy food for your pets without straining your budget, and is readily available in our feeder store.
What types of mice are included in the 9-30g package?
Frozen mice weighing 9-30g are an ideal choice for a wide variety of predators. Fully furred and varying in size and maturity, they provide a natural and complete source of nutrition for many animal species. This range includes three different sizes available in the Raw PetFood store:
- “Jumper” mice (10-15g), fully furred mice that have started consuming solid food. Their name comes from their characteristic hopping movement. They weigh between 10 and 15 grams and measure 6-7 cm in body length (excluding the tail). These mice are typically used as food for small snakes (corn snakes, small boas or pythons), monitor lizards, tegus, cats (whole prey), ferrets, and birds of prey.
- “Adult” mice (16-24g), independent individuals that consume only solid food. They have a balanced nutrient profile and are often sold in pet stores as "adult mice." They are an excellent feeder choice for medium-sized snakes (pythons, young boas), monitor lizards, tegus, medium and large lizard species. They are also suitable for cats and ferrets (whole prey), birds of prey, small alligators, and caimans.
- “Mature” mice (25-30g) are fully grown mice with visible sexual dimorphism. They weigh between 25 and 30 grams and measure about 7.5-8.5 cm in body length (excluding the tail). These are used as feeders for adult corn snakes, young boas and pythons, as well as monitor lizards, tegus, and other large lizard species. They are also readily consumed by ferrets and cats (as part of a whole prey diet), birds of prey, young caimans, and alligators.
How to serve frozen mice?
Frozen mice should be thawed to room temperature before serving. They can be immersed in warm water or slightly incised to release their natural scent, encouraging the animal to eat. It is not recommended to heat the mice in a microwave, oven, or very hot water.
Grade B mice are affordable feeders for snakes, with a lower price due to minor visual imperfections that do not affect their nutritional value. Thanks to the wide range of sizes, these mice are suitable as a dietary component for many animal species at various stages of development. They are an excellent choice for those who want to provide their pets with a healthy and natural diet at an affordable price.
