  • The chicks come from our hatcheries which we have been running for over 20 years.
  • Immediately after hatching, they are killed, cooled and then deep-frozen. Thanks to this, the chickens we offer are in very good condition, and at the final stage they are a high-quality food , used in the diet 'whole prey'

Chicks are placed in zipper bags before freezing, so they take up little space in the freezer.

Whole Prey and Meal Size in the Natural Diet of the Cat

Whole Prey and Meal Size in the Natural Diet of the Cat

Cats have accompanied humans throughout every stage of exploration and colonization, often adapting to new environments so effectively that in many places they have become dominant predators. This widespread presence of cats across all continents has resulted in an extraordinarily broad and diverse range of feline prey. Equally varied are the sizes of meals cats consume - from insects weighing less than a gram to livestock weighing several hundred kilograms. With such diversity in the diet of this small predator, is it even possible to determine a standard meal size for a cat fed a whole prey diet? This is the question we aim to explore in the article below.

Bird flu in cats and day-old chicks

Bird flu in cats and day-old chicks

Avian influenza is a viral infectious disease that primarily affects birds, but in some cases also spreads to other animal species. In 2023, the H5N1 virus became a widely discussed topic among cat owners. At Raw PetFood, questions are also directed about whether our day-old chickens are safe for cats and what procedures ensure that this is the case?

Would a corn snake eat a hatchling? Description of the study

In home conditions food for a corn snake mainly consists of frozen rats and mice. Numerous studies also confirm that rodents are the primary food for corn snakes (Pantherophis guttatus) in nature. Primary - but not the only one. Researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016 presented an interesting study on the feeding preferences of so-called corn snakes in the context of hunting for bird chicks.
